Job Description

Karen’s role within the Department is to increase revenue. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the Annual Fund, including Phone-a-Thon and employee appeal. She identifies donor prospects through research and coordination with staff, faculty, alumni and friends and is responsible for solicitation of major donor support and stewardship activities. Karen also does outreach to community funding resources (vendors, corporations, clinics) including coordination with appropriate staff, faculty, alumni and friends. She is the staff liaison for the Development Advisory Council. She conducts research on foundations and grants and promotes giving opportunities in both internal and external communications. She oversees all aspects of the publishing of the Proficio Magazine including coordination with staff, faculty, alumni and external entities on content, article submission, editing, printing and distribution. Karen maintains twoway communication with the Department relating to strategic fund raising and marketing efforts. She also helps to shape the image of the department for interface with the public through participation on the PR task force, anniversary task force and coordination with appropriate staff (including the Public Relations Specialist, Director of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations Coordinator), faculty, students and alumni.
