Our lab investigates how muscle health impacts mobility and quality of life in older adults. We develop and test lifestyle interventions, like exercise and nutrition programs, to combat age-related muscle decline and improve balance and mobility function. Utilizing a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach, we address critical issues such as muscle fat infiltration (myosteatosis), fall risk, and community mobility. Supported by multiple agencies including the NIH and VA, we offer trainees and collaborators the chance to participate in impactful research that aims to enhance the independence and well-being of older adults.
