Scholarships and Awards

Multiple scholarships are maintained by the department and made available to students on an annual basis. Scholarships for incoming students are determined through the admissions process, and student recipients will be notified of their award. Basic information about scholarships for current students is provided below and detailed information will be distributed by the department in advance of the application window; scholarships are typically awarded at the end of the indicated year. Current Students


Year 1 Awards
Conroy/Simone Community Service Scholarship Endowment: To provide scholarship support for a student who has demonstrated financial need and a proven track record of community service.

Donald J. Hobart Scholarship: To provide scholarship support for a student who has demonstrated excellence in leadership abilities, academic standing, compassion and humanitarian qualities, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Pekar-Abell Scholarship: To provide scholarship support for a student who has demonstrated a commitment to pediatric physical therapy through performance in the program and by the intention to work in a pediatric setting.

Carolyn Chanoski PT '87 and Lynn Garrison Scholarship: To provide scholarship support for a student who has demonstrated financial need and exhibited interest in working with geriatric populations.

Year 2 Awards
Class of 1964 Physical Therapy Scholarship: To provide scholarship support for a student who has demonstrated academic achievement and financial need.

Stephen M. Levine Memorial Scholarship: To provide scholarship support for a student on the basis of the student's potential to change the profession with their outspoken drive to improve clinical care.

Terry Heron Endowment: To provide scholarship support for a student who has exhibited interest in working with geriatric or elderly populations.

Year 3 Awards
Laura G. Levine-Mandell Memorial Scholarship: To provide scholarship support for a student to enhance their clinical skills by affiliating with a national training center.

Karyn E. Wade Memorial Scholarship: To provide scholarship support for a student who has demonstrated participation in community service or volunteer activities and can demonstrate knowledge of the effects of Lupus.

Orthopaedic Physical Therapist Award: To provide scholarship support for a student planning to practice in orthopaedic physical therapy.

Elizabeth G. Macaulay Memorial Award for Clinical Proficiency: To provide scholarship support for a student who has demonstrated outstanding clinical proficiency in their senior year.
