Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy

Graduation Requirements

Graduation from the DScPT program requires completion of a Final Project that seeks to integrate all elements of the student curriculum and demonstrate advanced competency in physical therapy, the overall goal of the program. The Final Project helps students integrate and solidify what they have learned into a coherent philosophical framework that will enhance clinical decision-making. It is a culminating experience to encourage students to make a professional contribution to the body of knowledge in Physical Therapy and to help advance the individual student’s career through documentary evidence of scholarship.

Each Final Project will be an independent effort that incorporates peer-review and demonstrates the candidate’s familiarity with and mastery of the current professional and academic literature. The candidate will submit the Final Project as a proposal no later than 6 months prior to the anticipated graduation date. Upon committee approval, the candidate will complete the Final Project. Satisfactory completion of the Final Project will make the candidate eligible for graduation from the DScPT program.
