Introduction

Welcome to Clinical Education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy and Education. Our clinical education program consists of two part-time clinical affiliations and four full time clinical internships.

Part time affiliations consist of one full day a week in the clinic for 8 weeks and occur during the Fall and Spring. Students are simultaneously involved in the Neuromuscular and Musculoskeletal blocks of the didactic curriculum during these experiences.

The full time clinical internships are each nine weeks in length for a total of 36 weeks of clinical experience. Students will complete one acute care rotation, one rehab rotation, one outpatient rotation and one elective rotation. At the start of the full time clinical internship experience, students have completed the didactic curriculum and have passed a cumulative clinical qualifying exam.
